A map showing cycle and walking routes to and from Ingatestone Anglo European school

Getting to and from Anglo European School

These routes and maps are suggestions of how you could stop taking the car and swap to cycling, walking, or scooting to school. They don’t show every possible route and you could have fun finding a way that works for you. If you know a safe way that gets you there even quicker, that’s great! Take that route instead.

Walking routes

The school is walkable from almost anywhere in the village. There are some short-cut footpaths, including directly from the train station. There are zebra crossings on the nearby high street, although the short section of Fryerning Lane from High Street towards the school lacks pavements on either side.

Cycling routes

Confident cyclists will be happier approaching the school than walkers, especially if they occupy the centre of the road. There are no formal cycle paths or lanes approaching the school, although the track from the station to the high street is fully cycle-friendly. The Brentwood cycle map does feature a small section of the network in Ingatestone.

Bus routes

The main 351 service between Chelmsford and Brentwood travels along the High Street. Bus stops are less than a half mile walk from the school. The stops have seating and shelters.

Train routes

Ingatestone train station has off-road short-cut paths to access the High Street and school for walkers and cyclists. It has quick, direct lines to Chelmsford and Shenfield. A change at Shenfield provides very frequent connections to Billericay, on the line to Southend. Greater Anglia offer discounts on train travel for students at some schools.
