Seventh Avenue via Paignton Avenue (1.9km approx.)
Drop off where Seventh Avenue meets Bloomfield Road. Follow Bloomfield Road and turn right onto the public footpath located at the end of the road. Follow the public footpath and turn left onto Fifth Avenue. Follow the public footpath through the park. At the public footpath junction, turn right and follow North Springfield signage onto Arun Close. Turn right onto Waveney Drive, then right onto Lawn Lane and cross Lawn Lane using the traffic island onto Paignton Avenue. If cycling, you must dismount from your bike and walk it for the remainder of the route along Lawn Lane to Burnham Road. Follow Paignton Avenue, then cross onto Burnham Road to reach The Boswells.
Seventh Avenue via Weir Drive (1.6km approx.)
Drop off where Seventh Avenue meets Bloomfield Road and walk to the end of the road. Turn right and use the public footpath. Follow the footpath over Sixth Avenue and then turn left onto Fifth Avenue. Continue through the park, keeping to the right, follow under the Chelmer Valley Road underpass. At the next footpath junction, turn right at signpost for North Springfield. Follow the footpath onto Arun Close. Turn right onto Waveney Drive (dismount if cycling and walk it along Waveney Drive). Turn left onto Weir Drive, and then turn right onto Lawn Lane to reach The Boswells.
Fifth Avenue via Paignton Road (2.5km approx.)
Drop off where Fifth Avenue meets Bloomfield Road and walk to the end of the road. Turn right and use the public footpath. Follow the footpath along Fourth Avenue and then cross over Third Avenue. Follow the footpath and cross Second Avenue and First Avenue. Follow the footpath until you reach the Chelmer Valley road underpass. Turn left onto footpath and cross the bridge over the river, Follow the path through the park. At the next footpath junction, turn right at the signpost for North Springfield and follow onto Arun Close. Turn right onto Waveney Drive (dismount if cycling and walk it along Waveney Drive). Turn right onto Lawn Road and follow onto Paignton Road. Follow Paignton Avenue onto Burnham Road to reach the Boswells.

Drop off where Hoffman Way meets Rectory Road. Follow Bishop Hall Lane through the University Campus, past the Anglian Ruskin Library and Conference Centre. Turn right onto the river path. Turn right at the next junction, and then left at the next footpath turn. Follow onto First Avenue and cross First Avenue onto Second Avenue, follow the footpath over Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue. Turn right onto Fifth Avenue and follow onto Arun Close. Turn right onto Waveney Drive (dismount if cycling and walk it along Waveney Drive). Turn right onto Lawn Road and follow onto Paignton Road. Follow Paignton Avenue, then cross onto Burnham Road to reach the Boswells

Drop off at the roundabout where Hoffman Way meets Rectory Road. Cross the roundabout and continue straight up Bishop Hall Lane and through the University Campus. Turn right onto the river path. Cross the river into the Chelmer Valley Nature Reserve at the first crossing passed the Michael Salmon Building and the carpark. . Turn right and walk up the path until Springfield football club. Turn right at Springfield Football Club. Exit the park through Arun Close. Turn right onto Waveney Drive. Turn left onto Weir Drive, and then turn right onto Lawn Lane. Cross Lawn Lane using Zebra Crossing to reach The Boswells.
From the South – Cycling only
Anglia Ruskin University via Fifth Avenue (2.2km approx.)
Drop off where Hoffman Way meets Rectory Road. Follow Alan Cherry Drive on the cycle lane. Turn left into the industrial park and turn right onto River Path. Turn right at the next junction, and then left at the next turn on the cycle path. Follow the cycle path onto First Avenue. Cross First Avenue, Second Avenue, Third Avenue and then finally Fourth Avenue. Turn right onto Fifth Avenue and follow onto Arun Close. Turn right onto Waveney Drive (dismount if cycling and walk it along Waveney Drive). Turn left onto Weir Drive, and then turn right onto Lawn Lane to reach The Boswells.

The number 56 service from North Melbourne to Beaulieu Park stops on Lawn Lane. This passes through Chelmsford with stops including Chelmsford Railway Station and Chelmsford Bus Station. There are other bus stops less than 2km’s away from the school at Anglia Ruskin University that travel to the Park and Ride.
Train routes
Chelmsford train station has trains to and from Shenfield, Ingatestone, Witham and Colchester, amongst others. Lots of Boswells students get the train to school. Greater Anglia offer discounts on train travel for students at some schools.
