Drop off where Samson’s Road meets Olde Forge. Continue straight on Samson’s Road, turn right onto Bateman Road. Turn right onto Church Road to reach The Colne Community School.

Samsons Road via footpath (1.1km approx.)

Drop off where Samson’s Road meets Olde Forge. Continue straight on Samson’s Road, turn right onto the public footpath alongside the school (opposite Morses Lane). Turn right onto Church Road to reach The Colne Community School.

From the South East – cycling or walking

Regent Road via Seaview Road (1.2km approx.)

Drop off where Spring Road meets Regent Road. Continue along Regent Road, then left onto Cinque Port Road. Turn right onto Seaview Road and then left onto Red Barn Road. Continue straight onto Bateman Road, then right onto Church Road to reach The Colne Community School.

From the South – cycling or walking

Ladysmith Avenue via Church Road (1.12km approx.)

Drop off where Ladysmith Avenue meets Victoria Place. Turn left onto Ladysmith Avenue and follow the road onto Church Road, using the pedestrian island to cross over onto Church Road. Follow Church Road to reach The Colne Community School.

From the South – cycling or walking

Ladysmith Avenue via Seaview Avenue (1.7km approx.)

Drop off where Ladysmith Avenue meets Victoria Place. Turn left onto Ladysmith Avenue, then turn right onto Seaview Avenue. Turn left onto Red Barn Road, continue straight onto Bateman Road. Turn right onto Church Road to reach The Colne Community School.

From the East – walking only

Stoney Lane via Robinson Road or via Red Barn Road (2km approx.)

Drop off where Red Barn Road meets Stoney Lane. Turn right onto Red Barn Road. Follow Red Barn Road onto Bateman Road, then turn right onto Church Road to reach The Colne Community School.

From the South East – walking only

Elizabeth Way via Spring Road (2km approx.)

Drop off where Elizabeth Way meets John Street. Turn left onto Elizabeth Way, then right onto Richard Avenue. Take the public footpath on the left and follow onto Regent Road. Turn left onto Regent Road, then right onto Spring Road. Turn right onto Church Road and follow the road to reach The Colne Community School.

Bus routes

There is only one bus service in Brightlingsea, but fortunately it goes right past the front on the school in both directions. It loops around the town and travels to Alresford, Wivenhoe and eventually Colchester. The bus stop heading out of town has seating and a shelter.
