The Bus Pilot runs from 04 October 2021 – 28 November 2021

  1. No purchase is necessary and the Bus Pilot (competition) is free to enter on a ‘first come – first serve basis’, if eligible. Eligible entrants must sign up to the Bus Pilot using the online screener emailed directly from the Stop.Swap.GO! team. Entrants must complete the online screener to confirm eligibility to take part in the Bus Pilot at point of sign up.

  2. Entrants must be between the ages 18 and 64 years old.

  3. The Bus Pilot will run from Monday 4 October 2021 to Sunday 28 November 2021 (excluding the post pilot survey) and entrants who qualify for the Bus Pilot at point of sign up, will have access to unlimited bus travel across Statutory Essex (areas of Essex that fall under Essex County Council authority) with nominated bus operators: First Essex Buses, Arriva Kent Thameside Limited, Konectbus t/a Hedingham and Stephensons of Essex for two-months only within the prescribed dates (further information will be detailed in your bus travel ticket pack).  

  4. Entrants must live in statutory Essex; any other entrants will be disqualified.

  5. To qualify for the Bus Pilot sign up promotions and prize draws; bus ticket use must be redeemed within the nominated bus operator ticketing app (with the exception of Arriva*) where you will be liable to the bus operators privacy notices and terms and conditions when using their platforms  and in accordance with instructions given unless otherwise specified. Further information will be detailed in your digital bus travel ticket pack.

  6. Entrants must own or have access to a smartphone to download, access and use the free digital two-months’ bus travel tickets unless otherwise specified. All participating bus operators (with the exception of Arriva*) have made primary provisions for app-based, digital tickets or promo codes only. *Arriva users will be issued with a Smart Card pass and will still require a smartphone to access the Arriva journey planning app and live service timetables.

  7. Entrants who use their bus ticket on a weekly basis during the Bus Pilot period, will be entered into a prize draw for a £50 Amazon e-voucher.

  8. Prize winners will be chosen by random draw performed by a computer process. Proof of age and postal code will be required for eligibility of prizes.

  9. No cash alternatives are available, but we reserve the right to substitute an advertised prize for another of equal or greater value should the original become unavailable.

  10. We reserve the right to re-draw the prize(s) if the winner cannot be contacted within 7 working days or is otherwise deemed ineligible to take part in the Bus Pilot. Winners will be notified of their win via email and/or SMS notification unless otherwise specified.

  11. Entrants will receive SMS messages (using details provided at sign up) for the purposes of quality control, feedback and reminders during the Bus Pilot (inclusive of the post pilot survey).

  12. By entering, you agree that any personal information provided by you with your sign up may be held and used by Stop.Swap.GO!, The bus operators or its agents and suppliers to administer the Bus Pilot.

  13. We reserve the right to amend our terms and conditions or to withdraw Bus Pilot entrants at our discretion.

  14. Winners may be asked to take part in Bus Pilot publicity or feature in Stop.Swap.GO! marketing communications.

  15. Any prize winner is bound by any terms and conditions which are attached to a promotion or prize (e.g. if the prize is a e-voucher, winners must comply with the terms and conditions of that e-voucher or any restrictions relating to where/when it can be used). No written correspondence or discussion of the competition outcome will be entered into.

  16. We reserve the right to publish and share the names of successful Bus Pilot winners on Essex County Council broadcast channels such as websites, social media and e-newsletters.

  17. Essex County Council reserves the right to cancel or amend this promotion due to events arising beyond its control or right to postpone or cancel the competition and/or to amend or supplement these Terms and Conditions at any time, without prior notice or liability. Any changes will be posted within these Terms and Conditions. Neither Essex County Council nor its agents are responsible for third party acts or omissions.

  18. Entrants must act in a safe and responsible manner when taking part on the Bus Pilot by adhering to all United Kingdom rules and regulations or any reasonable safe act whilst using the bus during the pilot. We reserve the right to withdraw Bus Pilot entrants at our discretion, if found to be acting in an unsafe and irresponsible manner.

  19. We shall not be responsible for any and all actions, claims, losses and expenses in respect of loss or damage incurred by any entrant or winner and/or any guest, parent or guardian (where applicable) in connection with entering this pilot or the enjoyment of the prizes.

  20. The entrant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the promoter of the Stop.Swap.GO! and any of its affiliated partners against all claims arising in respect of any injury, death, sickness or ill-health caused to or suffered by the entrant as a result of this pilot.

  21. We shall not be liable for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any person as a result of taking part (or not being able to take part) in the pilot or as a result of taking up (or not being able to take up) a prize.

  22. The indemnity on this pilot shall not cover entrants to the extent that a claim under this clause results from an entrant(s) [gross] negligence or wilful misconduct.

  23. The laws of England apply to this challenge.

  24. By entering the Bus Pilot, an entrant is indicating their agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

  25. The promoter of the Stop.Swap.GO! Bus Pilot is Essex County Council, whose decision regarding any aspect of this competition shall be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
